111 Arrested in Late-Night Bangkok Pub Raid

About 100 partiers were arrested for violating the emergency decree in a police raid at a pub in Bangkok after midnight today.

The emergency decree bans social gatherings in crowded places like entertainment venues during the Covid-19 situation.

Police spokesman Pol. Col. Kritsana Pattanacharoen the Fake pub on Pradit Manutham Road in Bueng Kum District was open illegally and 111 people – 64 men and 47 women – including four minors were arrested. 

Urine tests were conducted with police finding one person holding a bag of ketamine while 24 others were tested positive for methamphetamine use. One person was carrying a gun.

National police chief Pol. Gen. Chakthip Chaijinda ordered the police to get tough with rule-breakers. The curfew was lifted but other restrictions remain in place to prevent the spread of the coronavirus outbreak.
