Bangkok Motorways Go Free July 3-8

The Cabinet on Tuesday is expected to approve a proposal to waive all tolls on Bangkok’s major motorways from July 3-8 following the end of the country’s coronavirus lockdown.

Transport Minister Sak Siamchitchai said Monday that Highway 7 (Bangiok-Chonburi) and Highway 9 (Outer Ring Road) would go free a minute after midnight July 3.

The move follows the June 27 announcement that the Chalerm Mahanakorn Expressway (First Stage Expressway), Si Rat Expressway and Udon Ratthaya Expressway would go free on July 4-5 for the Asalaha Bucha-Khao Phansa holiday, as well as HM the King’s Birthday on July 28. They will now be free for the entire July 3-8 period.
