The Covid-19 vaccine made by Moderna Inc. will start to arrive in Thailand before Nov. 5 and a total of two million doses will be delivered during the current quarter.
Dr. Chalerm Hanpanich, president of the Private Hospital Association, some of the 560,000 ordered would arrive in Thailand before a week from Friday.
The doses will then be distributed to the Thai Red Cross Society and private hospitals equally to meet 40 percent of their orders. In December, 1.9 million more doses will be delivered to make a total of the Moderna vaccine imports of 2 million doses.
Thailand on 7,706 new coronavirus cases – although there were also 2,304 “probable” cases detected by home antigen test kits – and 66 deaths. The official tally is the lowest since July.
