Three more passengers on a flight that carried Sudan’s charge d’affaires and his Covid-19-infected daughter back to Thailand now have tested positive for the coronavirus.
Fifteen people on the flight from Sudan now have tested positive for Covid-19, said Dr. Taweesin Visanuyothin, spokesman for the Center for Covid-19 Situation Administration on Friday.
The three new confirmed cases were women, ages 22-28, and are all in state quarantine in Chonburi Province.
Unlike they and the 11 others, the Sudanese diplomat, his wife and daughter returned home to Condo One X on Sukhumvit Soi 26. The 9-year-old girl later was then hospitalized while the parents stayed home for two additional days.
Their improper self-quarantine prompted outrage at the condo with Bangkok’s governor suggesting hundreds of residents should self-isolate for two weeks.
The total cases in the country were brought to 3,239 and 85 coronavirus patients are being treated at hospitals. There were no new deaths.
