Thailand reported five new coronavirus cases on Tuesday, with all being Thai returnees quarantined upon entry into the country.
The Center for Covid-19 Situation Administration said two patients – a 31-year-old male student and a 22-year-old housemaid – returned Egypt while the other three who repatriated from Qatar were a 31-year-old woman, 22-year-old masseuse and 52-year-old crane operator. All were asymptotic when they tested positivd on their second test.
It is now 29 days without a locally transmitted case of Covid-19, although the government admitted it might have missed four cases involving Burmese migrant workers who tested positive in Myanmar after being deported. They are being investigated.
The country’s total cases ticked up to 3,156 with 58 deaths and 3,023 reoveries.
