Shake Shack, the American fast-food sensation that began as a sports venue hot dog stand will be coming to Thailand next year.
The New York-born burger restaurant shook Thailand’s interwebs Monday by announcing the first branch of Shake Shack in Thailand would be “coming soon”.
“Sawasdee, Thailand! We’ll be serving ShackBurgers in The Land of Smiles soon.”
Shake Shack was born in New York’s Madison Square Garden in 2001 as a hot dog stand but has since grown into a burger empire spanning the world with more than 370 locations, including ones in Singapore, Hong Kong, and soon, Malaysia.
Hong Kong-based investor Maxim’s Caterers Ltd., which brought ramen joint Ippudo to Thailand, has acquired the Shake Shack license and aims to open 15 branches in Thailand by 2032.
Shake Shack’s arrival comes even as American fast-food chains Carl’s Jr. and A&W have pulled out of Thailand.
