The Culture Ministry on Monday launched a new mobile application to Bangkok tourists and residents learn about historical and culture sites in Thailand, especially attractions along the MRT and BTS transit lines.
Called “Treasure Trip”, the free app offers locations and background on ancient cultural sites, contemporary arts, historical learning centers, old museums, art houses, and restaurants.
A feature called the “One-Day Trip” offers up attractive places located within three kilometers from BTS Skytrain and MRT subway stations to nake sightseeing fast and convenient.
Culture Minister Itthiphol Kunplome said the app built by NextBee Co. is part of the ministry’s “Thai Way of the Digital Age” campaign to promote preservation of beautiful Thai culture and traditions.
Among the listed atttractsins are the National Institute of Discovery Museums (Museum Siam), Port Riva Arun and Riva Arun Hotel, School of Traditional Medicine, Phra Chetuphon Wimon Mangkaram Temple (Wat Pho), A PINK RABBIT + Bob, Siam Exotique, HORSELEGMARKING And aat Phra Chetuphon Wimon Mangkharam Royal Palace.
The app also features a “treasure hunt” where participants can win more than 10,000 baht in hotel vouchers and other prizes.
