There’s a new landmark for photo taking in Hat Yai. It is street art that is currently receiving attention from people looking for a place take a selfie to post on social media.

Along the wall of Wat Mongkon Teparam, or Wat Pak Nam Hat Yai, in Songkhla Province, there are many artworks, painted by various artists in street-art style, with the theme of “Smile of Hat Yai”.

This artwork was painted by Treetana Weeraprapan and his friends, which was done in the first phase of the street art project.

The plan is to decorate more than 30 spots around Hat Yai to be attractions for photo taking and social media attention.

As for the first piece of art in the collection, Treetana revealed that it was inspired by his memory, as he grew up in Hat Yai and has seen the area develop. On the left side is a beauty pageant and on the right side is Lord Hanuman, who is bringing a flower to confess love to the beauty pageant.

It is expected that, when the first phase of the street art is finished, it will turn the areas into tourist attractions and benefit businesses nearby.
