Police today arrested two suspected gang enforcers for gunning down a motorcycle-taxi driver in broad daylight in Pattaya.
Manas Imnam, 39, and Niphon Panthong, 45, were captured early Thursday by police in Bangsaen where they allegedly fled after shooting Pratum Saardnuk, 47, in the face behind a school in South Pattaya July 28.
Witness Paridsada Klubpong, 28, said she’d hired Pratum to take her from Bali Hai Pier to Soi 17 where she’d parked her car. As she got into her vehicle Paridsada heard a gunshot and found Pratum slumped over his Yamaha Smart Style. She told police she spotted two men fleeding on a motorbike.
Police used CCTVs to track the gunmen back to an apartment on Nongprue where they found the Honda PCX, gun and clothing used in the killing. The pair were later traced to Bangsaen.
A close friend of the dead taxi driver said he liked to gamble and also earned enemies by shooting off his mouth. The two gunmen are believed to be connected to gamblers to which Pratum owed money.
