Missing German Woman Found Alive in Phuket National Park

German Woman Alzheimers Found Phuket

A 76-year-old German woman with dementia was found alive today in Phuket’s Sirinat National Park.

Missing for a week, Barbara Elisabeth Monika Glag Lange was found lying in a shallow freshwater canal in the park around at 11:30 a.m. She was cold, weak and in shock and was transported to a local hospital where she is expected to recover.

Lange reportedly has Alzheimer’s Disease and authorities nor family members expect her to remember much of her ordeal. Relatives thanked the rescue team that had searched for Lange since she disappeared May 9 from her Thalong, Phuket hotel.

She was last seen on CCTV cameras walking on a road in Mai Khao Subdistrict near the park after leaving her hotel.

She came to Phuket on vacation with her family on May 5 and enjoyed taking walks, although she sometimes could not remember how to get back. Authorities suspect Lange became lost on her May 9 walk.
