Phuket has loosened some of the restrictions put in place nationwide to prevent a resurgence of the coronavirus in a move to help the province return to a semblance of normalcy.
Gov. Narong Woonchiew issued an order over the weekend easing restrictions and allowing various venues to reopen and activities to resume.
Among the changes listed where:
- Public areas, including bouncy castles and playgrounds in areas around dams and reservoirs, and the Saphan Hin Sports Center, can reopen.
- All fighting cockfighting, fishing venues and water parks can reopen
- Venues supporting the movie and entertainment industries, including foreign film crews. Those entering the country would still be subject to quarantine, however.
Adherence to health and safety measures remains required, including use of the government’s Thai Chana contact-tracing application, wearing of face masks and employing social distancing.
