One foreign tourist is dead and another missing after ignoring “red flag” no-swimming warnings on Koh Chang.
A Spanish woman, identified only as Anna, 21, was found by Sawang Boon Foundation rescuers floating about 300 meters south of the Trat island’s Lonely Beach Sunday.
The volunteers searched an additional three hours for a 22-year-old French man who also went missing in rough seas, but was called off due to poor weather.
Anna’s body was sent to a local hospital for examination. Volunteers and a naval search team resumed the search today.
Local officials noted that a red flag had been flying at the beach, telling people it was unsafe to swim.
