More people are killed on Thailand’s roads than nearly anywhere else in the world and most of the dead were driving motorbikes.
Why? Lack of driver education? Bravado? Plain stupidity?
In this case, a slow-accelerating scooter pulls out to cross a busy highway – the driver looking the wrong way. The driver of the fast-approaching car never had a chance. One minute he and his wife are chatting happily, the next she’s screaming.
There was no way to stop.
The video, posted to Facebook, had no location or follow-up story, so it’s unknown if the motorcyclist was killed. But there’s no scenario in which he wasn’t severely hurt, or worse.
