Thai officials hope a a tropical storm taking aim at Hong Kong will drop rain I parched Thai reservoirs.
Nuri, which formed Friday, was about 380 kilometers south-southeast of Macau Saturday afternoon and is moving toward the western coast of Guangdong province. The Thai Meteorological Department expects it to dump rain on the Northeast and North Sunday and Monday. Bangkok and Pattaya could see rain by Tuesday.
Flash-flood and storm warnings were issued for most Thai provinces through June 16.
